The IRF was established to perform activities of a benchmark administrator, falling within the scope of the Regulation (Eu) 2016/1011 Of The European Parliament And Of The Council of 8 June 2016 on indices used as benchmarks in financial instruments and financial contracts or to measure the performance of investment funds and amending Directives 2008/48/EC and 2014/17/EU and Regulation (EU) No 596/2014.

Many years of research and analytical works in the area of structure of interest rates combined with data processing skills and technological and procedural solutions, incl. the Money Market Monitoring System (SMRP: www.smrp.pl), were key enablers in the development of WKF (Wskaźnik Kosztu Finansowania) – a BMR compliant benchmark.

The WKF project was entrusted to experts with a proven track record in banking, financial analytics, technology and with academic background.
